How to prepare a Whole Chicken in a Crockpot

Everyone loves a delicious rotisserie chicken, but unless you have your own rotisserie at home you have to buy your cooked chicken from the supermarket. A great and even tastier substitute is cooking a whole chicken in your crockpot. The great thing about cooking a whole chicken yourself is that you can remove the unhealthy skin and season the bird how you prefer. If you have a 6 quart or larger crockpot and love rotisserie chicken you should try this version of a crockpot roasted chicken.
The ingredients is my Healthy Lemon and Herb Crockpot Roasted Chicken, however it is really easy for you to make your own spice rub, and alter this directions to your own taste.
What you need
1 thawed whole chicken
1 head of garlic
2 lemons
Salt and Pepper
How to prepare it
Remove all the innards and skin from the chicken, and then rub salt and pepper all over the bird (inside and out). Place the salt and pepper coated chicken in the crockpot.
Peal the head of garlic and put most of the cloves into the birds cavity while keeping a few to place around the bird in the crockpot.
Slice the lemons and place the slices inside the cavity and all over the outside of the bird.
That is it! Do not add water.
How to cook it
prepare the bird on low for 8 to 10 hours. This directions takes a while to cook, but it is well worth the wait.
